Do you have to spend money at Hermès before getting a Birkin?

There is no publicly stated Hermès formula saying that spending a particular dollar amount guarantees a Birkin or Kelly.

However, experienced collectors frequently discuss the importance of developing a purchase history and relationship with their sales associate.

Industry reports describe customers spending across ready-to-wear, jewelry, watches, shoes, home goods and other Hermès categories while developing their boutique relationship. But even substantial spending does not guarantee a particular bag.

“If I spend $100,000, Hermès owes me a Birkin 25.”
